About The Position

The Paraprofessional I position is designed for individuals who will work more than 25 hours per week for a duration of 10 months. This role requires a commitment to supporting educational activities in a school setting, adhering to the guidelines set forth by the Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE). Applicants must meet specific educational qualifications to be considered for this position.

Requirements

• Earned a secondary school diploma or its equivalent.
• Completed 2 years of study at an institution of higher education, or
• Earned an Associate's Degree (or higher), or
• Achieve at least a score of 457 on the ETS ParaPro (thru August 31, 2026), or
• Achieve at least a score of 332 in Section 1. Reading and Writing; and a score of 334 in Section 2. Mathematics in the new ETS ParaPathways (as of September 1, 2025) Assessment.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in the classroom by assisting with instructional activities.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students as needed.
• Help maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
• Assist with classroom management and organization.
• Perform clerical duties as assigned by the supervising teacher.
