About The Position

The position is classified as Non-Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is a full-time role for a duration of 10 months. Requirements

• Must be proficient in Sign Language.
• Possession of a valid driver's license issued by the state of North Carolina.
• Must maintain a safe driving record.
• Educational Interpreter I requires a minimum EIPA score of 3.3 or TECUnit score of level 2.
• Educational Interpreter II requires an EIPA score of 3.5 and a minimum of three years of experience.
• Educational Interpreter III requires an EIPA score of 4.0 or national certification and five years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide educational interpreting services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
• Complete 20 hours of annual training related to interpreting.
• Maintain proficiency in sign language and interpreting skills.
• Adhere to the requirements for Educational Interpreter II within three years of employment.
