About the position

The Educational Diagnostician position involves conducting comprehensive assessments for K-12 students to evaluate their cognitive abilities, academic skills, and social-emotional development. The role requires collaboration with teachers and administrators to identify educational strengths and areas of concern, as well as providing recommendations for interventions and individualized education plans (IEPs).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate students' cognitive abilities, academic skills, and social-emotional development.
  • Administer and interpret a variety of standardized assessments, ensuring adherence to assessment protocols and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to identify students' educational strengths and areas of concern.
  • Analyze assessment data and provide detailed reports, including recommendations for appropriate interventions, accommodations, and individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, providing expertise and guidance in developing goals and objectives for students.
  • Provide consultation and support to teachers and parents on implementing effective instructional strategies and interventions based on assessment findings.
  • Stay updated on current research, best practices, and legal requirements related to educational assessment and special education.
  • Collaborate with community agencies and resources to ensure students receive necessary support and services.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, reports, and communication related to student evaluations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1+ years Educational Diagnostician experience required.
  • Educational Diagnostician Certificate required.
  • Certification or licensure as a School Diagnostician.
  • Experience conducting educational assessments and interpreting assessment data.
  • Strong knowledge of assessment measures, techniques, and best practices in educational diagnosis.
  • Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations related to special education and student evaluation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ethical conduct and the ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
