About The Position
The Tuscarora Intermediate Unit is seeking an Educational Consultant to join their team, with the position anticipated to begin in January 2025. This role is crucial in supporting the education of children with disabilities and will involve a variety of responsibilities aimed at enhancing special education practices within local school districts. The Educational Consultant will report directly to the Director for Special Education and will be expected to engage in a range of activities that promote best practices in special education. The position is structured as a 200-day work year, with a competitive starting salary ranging from $65,000 to $74,559. The Educational Consultant will be responsible for collecting and disseminating information on effective strategies in special education, developing and providing training sessions, and generating evaluation reports and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The role also requires a strong understanding of differentiating instruction and aligning assessments with the general education curriculum. In addition to training and support, the Educational Consultant will assist school districts in creating and implementing curricula that meet the needs of students with disabilities while adhering to Pennsylvania's Academic Standards. The consultant will provide on-site technical assistance, facilitate workshops, and conduct awareness sessions regarding state assessment requirements. The position demands a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and sensitivity while working with various stakeholders, including students, families, and educational agencies. Overall, the Educational Consultant will play a vital role in enhancing the educational experiences of students with disabilities and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
