About The Position

Educational Coaches (ECs) are activity and pedagogy experts for the GeoFORCE field academies. They ensure students are learning and work as a team with a lead summer coordinator and lead instructor.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in education, STEM education, or a STEM field.
• Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Nice To Haves

• Classroom teaching experience.
• Academic enrichment experience with secondary school students.
• Spanish fluency desired.

Responsibilities

• Lead classroom activities that review and reinforce material presented during the field portion of each day.
• Facilitate student learning by circulating amongst student groups in the field and during lecture, observing students and asking the lead instructor to clarify points of confusion.
• Assess and evaluate student learning by grading assignments and activities in the academy guidebook.
• Guide and mentor counselors with assisting with reviews and activities.
• Administer and grade the final project.
• Familiarize yourself with the academy material by reading the guidebook before the trip begins.
• Other related functions as assigned.
