About the position

The Educational Audiologist supports students ages birth–21 throughout Chester County, addressing hearing and auditory access needs across educational settings. This role plays a vital part in supporting access to instruction through identification, equipment management, consultation, and environmental modifications. We are seeking an Educational Audiologist to work per diem or up to a full-time schedule across Chester County, PA. The rate for an Educational Audiologist is $75 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in multidisciplinary evaluations with a focus on hearing functioning
  • Conduct and interpret functional hearing and audiological assessments
  • Analyze hearing and auditory processing data to support eligibility and educational planning
  • Interpret audiometric findings for school teams and families
  • Recommend, fit, and support the use of hearing assistive technology (e.g., FM/DM systems, soundfield systems)
  • Train school teams and students in the use, care, and troubleshooting of hearing devices
  • Monitor classroom acoustics and make environmental recommendations to optimize auditory access
  • Provide training to staff and families regarding hearing loss and its impact on learning
  • Maintain and manage amplification and assistive listening equipment
  • Collaborate with teachers, school nurses, SLPs, and other team members to support student success
  • Support hearing conservation programming and screening initiatives
  • Stay current on federal/state regulations and best practices in educational audiology
  • Serve as a liaison between educational teams and outside medical providers when needed

Requirements

  • Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.)
  • PA State Licensure in Audiology
  • CCC-A certification through ASHA
  • Experience supporting students with hearing loss in educational settings preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong collaboration, consultation, and organizational skills
