About The Position

The Educational Assistant is a committed member of a school team closing the opportunity gap. The Educational Assistant serves as academic or behavioral support to a student or a small group of students in the classroom. In addition, the Educational Assistant creates an inclusive and welcoming environment for our parents and scholars. Requirements

  • Education Required: Associate Degree (or equivalent of 60+ college credits) or a passing score on the paraprofessional assessment.
  • Strong planning and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Commitment to Prodeo Academy’s mission and values.
  • Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with scholars and families.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with children, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Implement instructional resources for a small group of children in the classroom.
  • Create a positive educational climate for students.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and coaching.
  • Modify lessons during the course of the school year to meet student needs.
  • Utilize curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served.
  • Follow the school-wide behavior system.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with all children.
  • Maintain communication with students' parents or guardians.
  • Support accommodations during school-wide assessments.
  • Ensure safety and supervision of students at all times.
  • Maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance, which is an essential function of the role.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the school and organization.
