Working closely with classroom teachers, you will help deliver engaging instruction, support student growth, and foster a safe, nurturing environment where every child feels encouraged to learn and thrive.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Current CPR certification
  • Ability to serve as an effective educator in and out of the classroom

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Previous relevant experience in an educational setting

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an Educational Assistant in the Primary School in alignment with Holy Trinity’s mission and values
  • Adhere to the standards and expectations set forth by the Maryland Department of Education
  • Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to plan and implement lessons aligned with Holy Trinity’s Primary School standards
  • Assume Lead Teacher responsibilities in their absence, as needed
  • Support classroom activities that address students’ academic, physical, social, and emotional needs
  • Reinforce classroom routines, expectations, and behavior guidelines to help each child succeed
  • Communicate regularly and professionally with fellow assistants, teachers, and staff
  • Promote and support Holy Trinity through participation in HTSA and other school‑sponsored events
  • Always model a strong character, demonstrating good judgment and maintaining the highest standards of ethical, honest, and forthright conduct
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding students, families, and school matters
  • Demonstrate expertise in assigned content areas and remain current in best practices and research related to child development
  • Communicate effectively and consistently with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Foster a classroom environment characterized by warmth, care, fairness, and respect for all students
  • Build positive, supportive relationships with students and families
  • Promote a culture of respect within the classroom and throughout the school community
  • Share positive feedback with parents first and collaborate with families when addressing student academic or behavioral concerns
  • Advocate for students by identifying and connecting them with appropriate resources beyond the classroom when needed
  • Maintain excellent punctuality and attendance, including participation in all required school meetings and events
