About The Position

The Educational Assistant position at Woodbury Middle School is designed to support students in various educational settings, particularly those with special needs. Requirements

• High school graduate
• Preferably college experience
• Experience working with children
• Ability to lift 30 pounds

Responsibilities

• Work with students individually, in small groups, or in large groups as necessary and prescribed by the immediate supervisor.
• Assist students in the general school population as well as those with identified special needs or who require additional educational assistance as defined in an IEP.
• Demonstrate continuous sensitivity to the needs of assigned children.
• Carry out instructional or developmental activities suggested by the teacher, specialist, or building administrator.
• Maintain competency and skills through various available offerings.
• Assist with personal care needs of students as required.
• Obtain and maintain CPI (Non Violent Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification as expected.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Benefits

• Hourly salary of $18.08
• Additional $1.00 for certification as a paraeducator II or teacher
• $3.00 per hour differential for Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) certification
• 6.5 hours per day for 183 days a year
