About The Position

Grants Pass School District No. 7 is now accepting applications for the following position for the 2025-2026 school year: Location: Allen Dale Elementary Position: Special Education Educational Assistant- Site Based Hours: 7 hours per day Calendar: 182 days per year (August-June) Vision We Are GP! Requirements

  • Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.
  • Two years of college study
  • An associate’s (or higher) degree
  • A passing score on the District’s reading, writing, and math assessment.
  • Upon selection, employees will be required to pay for the following: $12.50 fingerprinting fee and $70 ODE fingerprinting processing fee.

Nice To Haves

  • supplemented by college level work or special vocational training in Special Education principles and practices, behavior management, and/or procedures related to basic physical/medical needs and personal hygiene.
  • Two years of responsible instructional assistance experience, preferably involving contact with students who have some form of learning or physical disability or special cultural, social/behavioral needs.
  • Bilingual and biliterate in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the planning and implementing of learning experiences of students enrolled in the program, confers with teacher.
  • Ordering, preparing, record keeping, monitoring, typing filing, duplicating, evaluation, correcting, other clerical work and other duties as assigned.
  • Duties may involve working with students who need feeding, toileting or changing diapers and restraining, at times, due to aggressive behavior.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with fellow employees and ability to get along well with students.

Benefits

  • $19.25-$27.80 per hour. Dependent on approved accepted experience/education.

  • Longevity Service Stipend after 10 years of employment ($1,000-$1,600)
