About The Position

Seeking wonderful part-time student mentors for unique, rewarding opportunity! Work with intellectually disabled adults at the Santa Fe College Northwest Campus in our grant funded program, Project SAINT: Student Access and Inclusion Together.

Requirements

• The Educational Aide must be a currently enrolled Santa Fe College student, in good academic and behavioral standing, taking six (6) or more credit hours.
• Seeking only very motivated, highly responsible, and extremely capable applicants for this great opportunity.
• One to two interviews and three references will be required.
• A criminal background check will be conducted.
• Ability to work successfully in a multi-cultural environment.
• Customer Service - ability to respond promptly and courteously to all questions from students and faculty, demonstrating patience and persistence when helping students with little or no computer skills.
• Ethics - able to demonstrate integrity, professionalism, civility, and a high degree of ethics in all job-related actions

Nice To Haves

• Experience as a teacher/tutor or with persons with disabilities is very helpful.

Responsibilities

• Attending (auditing) 1 or more classes alongside a student
• Tutoring the student before or after class
• Assisting with assignments
• Accompanying student to on-campus activities or events
• Working with the student on community-based activities
