About The Position

The Education specialist Performs a variety of computer and education project development/management tasks to meet the needs of the Educational Services to the facility. Education Specialist is responsible for classroom and clinical instruction of students to include but not limited to: developing and providing classroom and clinical learning experiences; teaching, coaching and mentoring on the clinical unit; tutoring of and practicing with students; and evaluating student performance. The Education Specialist also may collaborate with accredited educational institutions to coordinate the placement of students within the organization. This role will focus on current student learners in practicum or clinical rotations at Sentara RMH.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Level degree required
  • Candidates must have at least one of the four certifications (RDCS, RCCS, RCS, or ACS)
  • BLS required
  • 2 years of related experience required.
  • adult 2D and 3D transthoracic and transesophageal echo, myocardial strain, contrast (DEFINITY), agitated saline (bubble study), exercise stress echo and dobutamine stress echo required
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of echocardiographic techniques, equipment, and industry standards required
