Shift Day shift | Full-time (Occasionally required for an evening shift or weekend for Epic upgrades, Together care initiatives, etc.) What you’ll do: The Ambulatory Education Specialist is responsible for providing effective training and education to Loyola staff across multiple departments, including Ambulatory Services, Admitting, Patient Financial Services (PFS), and Loyola University Physician Faculty (LUPF). This role serves as a subject matter expert in revenue cycle processes, insurance registration, and Epic systems while supporting staff development and quality outcomes. Key responsibilities include: Conduct Revenue Cycle Orientation classes covering the full patient accounting lifecycle, from account creation through account liquidation, with a focus on improving demographic accuracy and revenue cycle outcomes. Serve as an expert resource for Loyola staff related to revenue management, quality metrics, insurance registration, and Epic workflows. Assist in the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of training curricula and course materials designed for adult learners and aligned with revenue cycle quality standards. Evaluate course effectiveness and participant feedback, making data-driven adjustments to improve training outcomes. Coordinate Revenue Cycle onboarding and ongoing training, including tracking Epic certifications and Trinity Health Revenue Cycle standards. Partner with management teams to support staff development and performance improvement initiatives. Facilitate additional training for existing staff, including monthly revenue cycle forums and targeted refresher sessions. Maintain an online library of Revenue Cycle workflows, policies, procedures, and training tools to ensure consistent access to up-to-date resources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3–5 years of related professional experience
  • Strong knowledge of revenue cycle operations and patient accounting workflows
  • Ability to translate complex processes into clear, effective training content
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to support adult learners and drive quality improvement through education
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and compliance standards

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree
  • Preferred fields of study: Education, Adult Learning, or a related discipline
  • 6–10 years of related professional experience
  • Strong Epic background strongly preferred
  • Experience teaching in a classroom setting and delivering virtual/remote training sessions
