About The Position

The Education Programs Volunteer at the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science (Frost Science) will work alongside the Education team to assist staff with the execution of our education programs, from camps to floor demonstrations. The Programmatic Volunteer must be 16 years or older and be able to commit to the volunteer program for at least 6 months, donating a minimum of 8 hours a month.

Requirements

  • Must be 16 years or older.
  • Strong oral communication skills.
  • Reliable and punctual, with good attendance.
  • Positive attitude, strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Experience working with children, youth and/or families.
  • Must wear a Frost Science uniform T-shirt for the duration of their shift.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare materials and prototypes for experiments and activities.
  • Assist museum educators and instructors with classroom duties and tasks.
  • Support delivery and implementation of youth programs such as camps, classes and workshops.
  • Effectively work with museum staff and other volunteers to deliver programs to a diverse audience during special events or other specialized program needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
