About The Position

The Education Program Development Team Lead will serve as the Preschool Development Grant Early Childhood General Education Regional Coordinator for Northwest Mississippi. This role involves overseeing the implementation of early childhood education initiatives, providing technical assistance and training to pre-k teachers, and managing a team of Early Childhood Coaches. The coordinator will ensure compliance with state and federal regulations while supporting local school districts and childcare programs to enhance kindergarten readiness for children.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood or Education.
  • Five years of supervisory experience including planning and implementing staff meetings.
  • Five years of experience in the classroom as an educator.
  • Five years of experience as a mentor or technical assistant.
  • Three years of experience working independently without a manager on-site.

Responsibilities

  • Provide services on behalf of the Mississippi Department of Education's Office of Early Childhood.
  • Support the implementation of the Preschool Development Grant and expansion of early childhood education efforts in Northwest Mississippi.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of a designated regional area and a team of coaches.
  • Support technical assistance strategies and training for pre-k teachers.
  • Formulate, coordinate, and supervise state and local school district programs in compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Establish objectives, standards, and control measures for programs.
  • Supervise and lead five Early Childhood Coaches in the field.
  • Support districts, childcare centers, and Head Start programs in preparing children for kindergarten.
