About The Position

The Education Outreach Coordinator supports the education team at WQED by helping turn strategy into meaningful, community-centered action. The role focuses on coordinating programs, supporting partnerships with schools and community organizations, sharing public media educational resources, and managing communication and logistics that strengthen Learning Neighborhoods. By providing day-to-day support, collecting feedback and participation data, and collaborating across teams, the Coordinator helps ensure education initiatives are accessible, responsive, and aligned with the needs of educators and families.

Requirements

  • Background in Education or related field preferred
  • This role requires frequent travel to various locations within the WQED Learning Neighborhood. The Education Outreach Coordinator must maintain a valid driver’s license and be available to travel within a 100-mile radius several days per week.
  • Delivery of community resources may involve lifting and carrying small equipment, promotional materials, and other education-related items. Must be able to lift moderate weights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for public television, its role in community enrichment, and WQED’s mission to create experiences that educate, entertain and inspire our neighbors.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Experience in community outreach, relationship building, and partnership development.
  • Enthusiasm for fostering community connections and educational experiences.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with WQED staff.
  • Openness to learn software and systems used to manage and execute projects.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends as required for community events and outreach
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and engage in active, in-person outreach settings

Responsibilities

  • Assemble PBS and WQED resources into guides, webpages, and toolkits for Learning Neighborhood partners.
  • Track program numbers and events
  • Complete or provide information for evaluation reports, grant applications, and metrics reports for both internal and external partners/funders.
  • Leverage the WQED network to connect organizations and resources to support and elevate the work of local schools, libraries, and their communities.
  • Support the education team at WQED by coordinating education programs and outreach activities that strengthen Learning Neighborhoods
  • Attend and support outreach events, workshops, and community gatherings to represent WQED and its education initiatives
  • Assist with building and maintaining partnerships with schools, libraries, and community organizations
  • Support the distribution and use of public media educational resources with educators, families, and partners
  • Provide day-to-day operational support
