POSITION SUMMARY The Education Manager – Clinical & Support Services (Non-Nursing) provides centralized leadership, governance, and oversight of skill-based education, orientation standards, and competency validation processes across non-nursing clinical and support service departments. Reporting to the Director of Education and Workforce Development, this role establishes and standardizes structured education frameworks comparable to those in place within Nursing Services, ensuring consistency, regulatory compliance, and workforce capability across the organization. This position is responsible for developing and implementing hospital-wide standards for new hire orientation, annual and remediation-based competencies, and specialty skill validation for departments including Environmental Services (EVS), Maintenance/Facilities, Nutrition & Food Services, Registration/Patient Processing, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Laboratory, and other ancillary areas as applicable. The Education Manager provides governance and oversight to department-based educators, ensuring competency tools, documentation practices, and training strategies are evidence-based, current, and aligned with regulatory and accreditation requirements (CMS, Joint Commission, OSHA, and other applicable standards). The role integrates adult learning principles into education design, promoting experiential, skills-based, and scenario-driven training methodologies that enhance practical application and job performance. The Education Manager collaborates with interdisciplinary leaders to identify workforce upskilling opportunities, support specialty certifications, expand development pathways, and strengthen succession planning efforts. Through structured oversight, standardized processes, and data-driven evaluation, this position mitigates compliance and infection prevention risk, improves onboarding effectiveness, enhances regulatory readiness, reduces performance variability, and strengthens operational reliability. The Education Manager ensures that non-nursing clinical and support departments receive consistent educational rigor and governance aligned with organizational strategic goals. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Education Bachelor’s degree in Education, Healthcare Administration, Organizational Development, Nursing, or another healthcare or clinical discipline required. Minimum Experience Three (3) to five (5) years of progressive healthcare experience. Experience in education, training program development, or competency validation. Required Registration/License/Certification N/A Preferred Education Experience overseeing education or competency programs across multiple departments. Preferred Experience One or more years- experience in Workforce Development Familiarity with healthcare regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., CMS, Joint Commission, OSHA). Experience applying adult learning principles in skills-based training environments. Preferred Registration/License/Certification Certification in area of healthcare specialty Other Requirements N/A
