About The Position

The Education Librarian at California State University, Fullerton, serves as a subject specialist and liaison to the College of Education, providing instruction, reference, and outreach to a diverse group of students and faculty. Requirements

• Master's degree in library and/or information science from an ALA-accredited institution or equivalent by the time of appointment.
• Educational background or demonstrated expertise in disciplines within the College of Education.
• Knowledge and experience with discipline-specific information databases and research resources.
• Experience in research assistance and teaching information literacy in higher education or a comparable area.
• Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Ability to support a diverse environment with co-workers, students, faculty, and the wider campus community.
• Evidence of interest in scholarly, creative, and professional activities.

Nice To Haves

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in Education or significant experience in Education.
• Experience using current technologies to design and teach engaging learning activities.
• Experience supporting postbaccalaureate and graduate students.

Responsibilities

• Plan, teach, and assess faculty-requested library instruction sessions.
• Provide research assistance via in-person and virtual consultations and scheduled reference shifts.
• Develop collaborative relationships with faculty in the College of Education as a subject liaison.
• Identify and select materials for collection development in collaboration with the Collection Development and Management Librarian.
• Create and maintain online instructional materials for the library website.
• Engage in scholarly/creative activities and serve on various committees as part of the tenure and promotion process.
