About The Position

The Inspire Education Coordinator will be responsible for the educational content of the Creation Station (maker space) and other educational programming within the inspireU Discovery Center. The Inspire Education Coordinator will promote inspireU's mission and core values through their consistent and playful approach to learning experiences, operations, and customer service. This role will be a member of the leadership team of the Children's Discovery Center, leading programming, and training others on all educational programming within the museum. The Inspire Education Coordinator should have a passion for families and children, visible enthusiasm for learning and play, informal education experience, and the ability to work with diverse types of people. The Inspire Education Coordinator will work with the Director and Inspire Experience Manager to craft inspireU's standard operating procedures, staff training and philosophy of learning and working. This position will have a direct influence on how the discovery center operates, ensuring that the first ever educational programming and staff cohort adheres to the discovery center's philosophy of learning and play and ensures that our programming meets our mission of promoting healthy behaviors. This position is employed by Mosaic Life Care.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or above (or equivalent experience) in early childhood education, education, museum studies, youth development, arts (visual and/or performing), science education, public health (Certified Health Education Certificate a plus) or related degrees is required.
  • 2 Years of experience delivering memorable science, arts, movement, or other learning experiences to children or adults is required.
  • 1 Year of retail, customer service or guest-facing roles. Must include experience working with point of sale and/or customer software/applications is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • Experience with program evaluation implementation and evaluation planning and design a plus is preferred.
  • Experience in the following areas preferred: museums, early childhood education, out-of-school-time programs, and experiential learning is preferred.
  • 1 Year supervisory experience including developing staff, performance management, and assigning work is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that InspireU provides a great learning experience for all visitors.
  • Ensure high quality customer service and meaningful engagement for all visitors.
  • Responsible for creation of new education content for Creation Station, camps, and classes.
  • Facilitate most of the educational content within Creation Station.
  • Make sure that inspireU programs are adequately stocked with materials for the scheduled programs.
