About The Position

The Education Coordinator II at Hoag Clinic serves as a vital educational resource for assigned departments, focusing on assessing educational needs and providing various training materials to enhance patient outcomes. This role involves overseeing orientation for new hires, maintaining competencies for clinical staff, and leading initiatives to improve quality indicators. The coordinator also acts as a mentor, guiding staff in complex patient care issues and participating in the growth and development of clinical teams.

Requirements

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required.
• Minimum of four (4) years of clinical experience in specialty required.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in California required.
• Experience with PowerPoint and presentation technology required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assess educational needs of assigned departments and provide in-service training, classes, and online modules.
• Oversee orientation for newly hired employees and conduct annual skills reviews.
• Maintain competencies for assigned clinical staff and ensure compliance with CMS Quality Outcome and Safety Indicators.
• Lead teams in implementing changes to improve patient outcomes and guide staff in solving complex patient care problems.
• Participate in planning for the growth and development of clinical staff and assigned departments.
• Coordinate and participate in re-certification programs based on service line.
