About The Position

The Registered Nurse Education Coordinator for Orthopedic Med Surg is responsible for directing and performing orientation for all new patient care employees, as well as re-orienting and educating current employees on changes in policies, procedures, and regulations. This role involves preparing, directing, scheduling, and providing education on healthcare topics, new procedures, and high-tech operations. The coordinator will also develop and revise documentation forms to meet standards and improve time management, and prepare new policies and procedures while revising existing ones.

Requirements

• At least two (2) years clinical experience.
• Current Tennessee RN license.

Responsibilities

• Prepare materials for in-service/education by research and development.
• Educate and provide inservice to staff by direct teaching, providing written material and skills labs.
• Responsible for orientation of new patient care employees and re-orientation of present employees.
• Directly supervise patient care employees at least once yearly.
• Provide one-on-one support for staff related to clinical and professional problems.
• Maintain records of all employees regarding education/inservices by current file system.
• Prepare and maintain resource files and materials needed to provide education for staff and patients.
• Follow policies, procedures, and safety standards. Complete required education assignments annually. Work toward achieving goals and objectives, and participate in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
