About The Position

The Education Content Specialist transforms complex medical and scientific information into accessible, evidence-based learning experiences for patients, caregivers, and the bleeding disorders community. This role conducts needs assessments, develops curriculum frameworks and learning objectives , writes and designs learning content across mediums (LMS-ready modules, web, digital, print collateral, and presentations), and manages SME reviews to ensure accuracy and relevance. The Education Content Specialist owns content quality, clinical accuracy (via SME validation), health literacy alignment, and learning design. This role partners with the LMS Administrator to package content for publishing and to review learner data/feedback for continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, public health, health communication, instructional design, science writing, or related field (advanced degree a plus).
  • 3–5+ years of experience in health education content development, instructional design, medical/science writing, or curriculum development.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex medical/scientific information for non-clinical audiences.
  • Knowledge of child and adult learning methodologies and the ability to adapt content to diverse learning needs.
  • Strong writing skills across formats (modules, scripts, web content, print collateral, presentations ).
  • Excellent oral, written , and social media communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to details
  • Excellent organizational and office administration skills
  • Possess positive servant leader attitude and team player mentality
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Windows 7 and above.
  • Proficient in applicable systems and software.

  • Experience with the bleeding disorders community is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct needs assessments with patients and caregivers to identify learning priorities, barriers, and preferred formats.
  • Translate needs assessment findings into curriculum recommendations, content plans, and learner-centered outcomes.
  • Develop curriculum frameworks, learning objectives , and content outlines aligned with evidence-based information and community needs.
  • Collaborates with Learning Management System A dministrator to write educational scripts, modules, and adult-learning-model (ALM)-friendly content
  • Ensure all materials are culturally competent, inclusive, and aligned with health literacy best practices.
  • Apply accessibility-minded practices in partnership with Communications and the LMS Administrator.
  • Manage SME review cycles: coordinate reviewers, gather feedback, track revisions, and maintain documentation/version control.
  • Integrate SME feedback while maintaining learner-centered design and clarity.
  • Maintain citations/source lists and ensure content is evidence-based and current.
  • Coordinate with Communications on formatting/branding and broader dissemination when content is repurposed outside the LMS.
  • Review learning analytics and user feedback with Education leadership and the LMS Administrator to recommend content improvements.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with internal teams (e.g., IT, Communications, Education, and external partners as needed) to ensure the timely delivery of educational content and learning products.
