About The Position

The Education Consultant 3 position within the Office of School Choice is responsible for managing the Louisiana Scholarship Program and other School Choice initiatives. This role involves providing direct support to nonpublic schools and families, acting as a liaison between the Louisiana Department of Education and various educational leaders. The position requires strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail, with a focus on program management and monitoring.

Requirements

• A baccalaureate degree plus four years of professional level experience in teaching or education.
• A master's degree plus three years of professional level experience in teaching or education.
• A master's degree in education plus two years of professional level experience in teaching or education.
• Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) can substitute for two years of required experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Louisiana Scholarship Program and other School Choice programs.
• Provide direct support to nonpublic schools and families.
• Serve as a liaison between the Louisiana Department of Education and Diocesan Superintendents and Non-Public School Leaders.
• Develop and implement educational programs affecting various educational stakeholders.
• Communicate the needs of Local Education Agencies to the Regional Service Center Director and State Director.
• Provide technical assistance to parents, teachers, and administrators regarding services and programs.
• Research, design, implement, and evaluate educational programs in accordance with federal and state laws.
• Conduct staff development and in-service training for various educational personnel.
