Make a Meaningful Difference Every Day Join Our Team as an Education Assistant (LNA) Are you passionate about supporting children with complex medical and educational needs? At Cedarcrest, we’re looking for a compassionate and collaborative Education Assistant with LNA certification to join our dynamic school team. In this hands-on role, you’ll partner with teachers, therapists, and nurses to create a positive, inclusive learning environment. Whether helping with learning activities, supporting personal care needs, or monitoring medical status, you’ll be part of a team dedicated to helping each child thrive. What You’ll Do: Support Student Learning Work closely with the classroom teacher to bring each student’s individualized program to life Help children participate in classroom activities and adapt lessons as needed Assist with oral motor skills, mealtime routines, and personal care Follow therapy recommendations and support safe lifting, transfers, and positioning Join students on fun and meaningful community outings and field trips Step in as a substitute teacher when needed Collaborate with a Care-Focused Team Be an essential part of a multidisciplinary team including educators, therapists, and nurses Attend team and planning meetings to help support each child’s progress Keep accurate notes and observations on student participation and growth Prepare classroom materials and help maintain an engaging, safe environment Provide Medical Support (LNA-Specific) Monitor students’ medical status and report changes to nursing staff Assist with medical routines such as tube feedings and mobility equipment use Document daily care needs like meals, positioning, bathroom routines, and activity participation Step into a Leadership Role During School Closures On weekends or school holidays, you may serve as the LNA on the unit, continuing your compassionate care for students outside the classroom QualificationsQualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Current licensure as a Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) required. Candidates without an LNA license must enroll in an LNA course within 90 days of employment (Cedarcrest will cover the cost). Please note: individuals without an LNA license will not be able to perform all medical-related duties of the role until licensure is obtained.
