The Education and Outreach Manager provides for the development, coordination, documentation, and supervision of all educational and outreach activities and events undertaken by Philadelphia Coordinated Health Care (PCHC). The Education and Outreach Manager works as a team with PCHC’s Quality Administrator, reports to the Director of PCHC, and supervises the Community Outreach Department. The Education and Outreach Manager works cooperatively with all five County Offices of Intellectual Disabilities and the Southeastern Regional Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) to determine training priorities, plan training activities and coordinate outreach initiatives. The Education and Outreach Manager works with all PCHC staff to arrange for appropriate presenters for training sessions and, when needed, with outside consultants providing specific expertise. The Education and Outreach Manager represents PCHC at meetings concerning training activities in any of the five southeastern region counties. The Education and Outreach Manager is also responsible for designing, with the PCHC Quality Administrator, methods for documenting training sessions and attendance and developing presentation formats for this information. The Education and Outreach Manager is responsible for working with the appropriate departments to capture the HCQU training data required for the ODP HCQU reporting requirements. In conjunction with the Quality Management Department, the Education and Outreach Manager is responsible for providing summaries of training activities, analysis of that data, and developing outcomes measures to gauge the effectiveness and quantity of training provided. The Education and Outreach Manager will also develop alternative methods of providing education such as on-line training and webinars. Finally the Education and Outreach Manager will outreach to and interface with health related institutions of higher learning to a.) Interview, hire and supervise interns to work with PCHC and the intellectual disabilities/Autism service system, and b.) to encourage those institutions to include training about people with intellectual disabilities/Autism in their curriculum.
