About The Position

The International Erosion Control Association (IECA) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Education and Conference Manager to oversee the planning, development, and execution of educational programs and conferences. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in advancing the association's mission to promote erosion and sediment control and stormwater management through high-quality educational initiatives and networking opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Environmental Science, Event Management, or a related field.
  • CMP preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in educational program development and conference management, preferably within a professional association or non-profit organization.
  • Strong understanding of erosion and sediment control practices and the needs of the erosion control community preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and financial resources effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and build strong professional relationships.
  • Proficiency in using event management software and online educational platforms.
  • Flexibility to travel for conferences and events as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement educational programs, workshops, webinars, and conferences that meet the needs of IECA members and the erosion control community.
  • Coordinate all aspects of conference planning including venue selection, speaker recruitment, scheduling, logistics, and event marketing.
  • Develop and manage budgets for educational programs and conferences, ensuring financial objectives are met and resources are efficiently allocated.
  • Cultivate relationships with industry experts, sponsors, and partners to enhance the quality and reach of IECA's educational offerings.
  • Oversee the creation and distribution of educational materials, including presentation slides, handouts, and online resources.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs and conferences, providing regular reports and recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop marketing strategies to promote educational programs and conferences, increasing attendance and engagement.
  • Lead and manage a team of coordinators, volunteers, and contractors to ensure the successful execution of events and programs.
