About The Position

The Editorial team provides our customers with premium, differentiated visuals across news, sports, and entertainment that cover real people, events, actions, and facts. We also grow and maintain one of the world’s most extensive archives of socially significant, historical photos, footage, and prints. Who You Are: Getty Images is seeking an Editorial Event Support Technician Intern to join our Editorial Operations team. This internship provides hands-on technical support during live events for our editorial unit. The internship offers exposure to workflows that power global coverage of major sporting, entertainment, and news assignments. Interns will assist with pre-production tasks, FTP workflows, API implementation, and provide on-site or remote support during events. You will join a team of highly collaborative and curious technicians who are comfortable working within a diverse set of environments, and willing to take initiative on their ideas. You’re ready to take on the challenge of setting up and running technology in non-traditional environments. This role is a great match for emerging college seniors or recent graduates with interest in live event production and editorial support.

Requirements

  • The desire to learn advanced computer/IT skills, including thorough understanding of networking, subnets, and IP configuration.
  • Basic understanding of technology systems and willingness to learn advanced workflows.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in diverse environments.
  • You possess the ability to problem solve and take initiative.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for event coverage.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiar with the software and hardware commonly used in digital imaging workflow
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university, 4+ years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with pre-production setup and technology configuration for live events.
  • Support FTP/API workflows and documentation of processes.
  • Provide weeknight and weekend support to internal and external Slack channels.
  • Shadow senior technicians and gradually take on independent assignments.
  • Help troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during events under supervision.
  • Contribute to workflow improvements and system automation projects.
  • Work in a team environment with fellow technicians, Operations, photographers, editors, Technology, and other departments.
