The position involves supporting multiple in-house editors in achieving the agreed revenue and profitability targets for their publisher/list. The role includes managing and delivering the agreed handover targets for the imprints, liaising with key stakeholders both internal and external, and supporting colleagues within the department. A significant part of the job is developing and maintaining strong working relationships with authors, editors, and series editors to ensure a high standard of author care throughout the publishing process. The candidate will be responsible for keeping the publishing program on schedule through regular liaison with authors and by maintaining and updating the frontlist plan for any given year. Additionally, the role includes preparing manuscripts for handover to production to agreed standards and on schedule, setting up new titles on Biblio, and ensuring that any changes to projects are updated promptly and in line with key dates. The candidate will also be tasked with commissioning peer reviews for projects, preparing and coordinating contributor contracts, putting together cover briefs, and responding promptly to inquiries. The position requires close liaison with production and marketing to ensure they have the necessary information in line with key dates, as well as providing basic reports and sales information, completing author and contributor payments, and offering administrative support for the manager.
