Pantheon Books is seeking an editorial assistant to join its team. The assistant's role would be to provide administrative and editorial support to an Editor and an Editor at Large on an impressive list of books in fiction, nonfiction, and graphics. Pantheon was founded in 1942 by Helen and Kurt Wolff, and began by publishing literature in translation. In the post-war decades, Pantheon emerged as the premiere home to major works of cultural commentary by such authors as Studs Terkel, Marguerite Duras and Simone de Beauvoir. Today its star-studded roster of award-winning authors include Wole Soyinka, Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah, James Gleick, Margo Jefferson, Ha Jin, Laila Lalami, Ali Smith, Alexander McCall Smith, Heather Ann Thompson, Charles Yu, Chris Ware, Marjane Satrapi, and Art Spiegelman. The ideal candidate will be able to manage a diverse set of responsibilities efficiently and has a strong interest in genre-bending hybrid works, graphic novels, novels in translation, and smart narrative nonfiction.
