As the Editorial and Promotions Marketing Intern, you won’t be grabbing coffee — you’ll be shaping campaigns and sparking creative ideas that help bring people together and boost engagement across our programs. You’ll get hands-on experience exploring and learning multiple media channels and contributing to real-world campaigns. If you’re curious, creative, and eager to carve out your place in the marketing world, our team is a great starting point to grow your skills and your confidence. This paid internship will begin in Summer 2026 and may continue until the end of August.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in a degree program at an accredited college/university, rising undergraduate juniors or seniors, graduate students, or post-doctoral students, and remain academically enrolled throughout the internship, or must have previously graduated from college and enrolled in a continuing education program
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to stay organized, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Must be extremely detail-oriented
  • Basic knowledge of marketing principles and familiarity with marketing channels/platforms such as Meta, Google, or email
  • AARP will not sponsor an employment visa for this position at this time.
  • Regular and reliable job attendance
  • Exhibit respect and understanding of others to maintain professional relationships
  • In office/open office environment with the ability to work effectively surrounded by moderate noise

  • Copywriting or experience with Adobe Photoshop

Responsibilities

  • Support the creation of uplifting content for real‑world marketing campaigns across media channels designed to bring people together and promote a sense of belonging
  • Help brainstorm and execute creative ideas that foster social connection and engagement across programs
  • Support the creation of and/or identify visual assets to support campaigns
  • Help QA content, links, and campaign materials before launch
