About The Position

The Hearst Magazines Enthusiast & Wellness Group is seeking an editor for the Deals & Trends team, responsible for creating engaging content that highlights the best sales and trending products across various platforms. This role involves writing compelling stories that resonate with audiences while optimizing for search and social media. The editor will work closely with multiple departments to support brand goals and drive affiliate revenue through effective content strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 3+ years' experience creating commerce content at a digital-first outlet.
• Strong writing skills with the ability to optimize for search and affiliate best practices.
• Familiarity with data tools like Google Analytics, Looker, Skimlinks, or similar reporting tools.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and pivot based on business needs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working in a CMS.

• Interest in online shopping and product categories such as home goods, fitness gear, and technology.
• Experience collaborating with various departments including Editorial and Performance Marketing.

Responsibilities

• Pitch, write, and produce deals and trends content that responds to seasonal events and brand goals.
• Support search and affiliate goals with a flexible mindset and the ability to adapt quickly.
• Identify relevant deals for various audiences and produce timely content in a serviceable format.
• Support the team's strategy for major sale events and upcoming product launches.
• Monitor the news cycle to identify content opportunities with new or existing content.
• Liaise with the SEO team to ensure all content is optimized for search and commerce.
• Use data management tools to optimize for affiliate revenue.

Benefits

• Base salary between $67,000-$77,000, dependent on experience and market demands.
• Position covered under the Writers Guild of America, East, Collective Bargaining Agreement.
