About The Position

The Editor for the Content Hype team at Hearst's Enthusiast Group is responsible for ideating, creating, editing, packaging, and distributing content that enhances the performance and visibility of previously produced material. This role focuses on engaging niche audiences through creative repackaging and original content, driving membership conversion and affiliate commerce. The ideal candidate will have a strong editorial background, experience in content marketing, and a passion for health and fitness topics.

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of experience working for a digital media brand, preferably in health/wellness/fitness or service-oriented brands.
  • Experience with SEO-based content and identifying service angles from news or timely events.
  • Strong understanding of current trends in the health/fitness space and ability to pitch stories to the Hype team.
  • Demonstrated experience publishing digital content within a CMS and using analytics tools like Google Analytics and Google Trends.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Positive attitude and openness to collaboration among teams.
  • Bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

  • Originate and edit content that meets performance metrics under the direction of the Deputy Editor.
  • Assign, file, and top-edit stories, scripts, and video captions.
  • Create cross-platform experiences for readers across digital, print, and social media.
  • Manage and/or mentor team members, depending on experience.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $62,310-$69,000, dependent on experience and market demands.
  • Position covered under the Writers Guild of America, East, Collective Bargaining Agreement.
