About The Position

The EDI Manager at Nature’s Way is responsible for overseeing all aspects of electronic data interchange (EDI) operations, ensuring seamless, accurate, and secure exchange of business documents with trading partners. This role leads strategic initiatives to optimize EDI processes, supervises EDI Coordinator(s), and collaborates cross-functionally to support business growth and operational excellence. The EDI Manager will leverage a Value Added Network (VAN) and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) to facilitate EDI transactions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong technical proficiency in EDI standards, mapping and integration with ERP systems.
  • 3+ years of experience in EDI Management, including hands on experience with VANs and mapping.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor and collaborate across teams.

Nice To Haves

  • SAP ERP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily EDI operations, ensuring accurate and timely transmission of documents via VAN and SAP BTP.
  • Monitor EDI transactions for errors, troubleshoot issues, and resolve discrepancies to maintain data integrity and compliance.
  • Supervise and mentor the EDI Coordinator, providing guidance and support for professional development.
  • Create, adapt, and troubleshoot EDI maps for trading partners within SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), ensuring compliance with each partner’s specifications and Nature’s Way data models.
  • Translate requirements into robust mappings, implement conditional logic, and maintain cross-reference tables to prevent failures and chargebacks.
  • Coordinate end-to-end testing (unit, integration and user acceptance) and drive root-cause remediation with internal teams and trading partners.
  • Version and document mapping changes, manage controlled deployments and monitor post-release performance to validate accuracy and stability.
  • Develop and implement EDI strategies aligned with Nature’s Way business objectives.
  • Lead the onboarding and integration of new trading partners, including requirements gathering, mapping, testing and validation of EDI processes.
  • Stay current with industry best practices, standards (e.g. ANSI X12, EDIFACT), and emerging technologies to enhance EDI capabilities.
  • Work closely with internal teams (IT, Customer Care, Sales) to ensure EDI systems are integrated with business processes and ERP systems.
  • Communicate effectively with trading partners, external EDI providers, and VAN providers, to resolve issues and optimize document exchange.
  • Generate and analyze EDI performance reports to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and potential risks.
  • Automate reporting and alerts to proactively address issues and support business continuity.
  • Oversee the configuration, maintenance, and upgrades of EDI translation software and mapping tools.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and organizational policies through regular audits and documentation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with trading partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Represent Nature’s Way in EDI-related discussions, projects and initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process optimization to reduce manual intervention and improve efficiency.
  • Provide training and support to the EDI Coordinator and other team members on EDI systems, protocols and best practices.
