The Edge Band Operator is responsible for producing parts from their assigned edge bander. The job requires attention to detail for all parts being produced. Specific areas of responsibility include verifying that the dust collection system for the edge bander is on, pulling appropriate edge banding and loading the machine, and ensuring that the glue level is adequate to run panels. The operator will review part label stickers to determine which edges of the panel need to be edged, examine the first panel for quality issues, and make adjustments if required. The operator must continue running parts, verifying quality as parts are being removed from the bander, and must not leave the workstation while parts are running. Additionally, the operator will restack parts on project carts as prescribed, run all carts for a specific job together without skipping carts, and record job completion on the Master Schedule Sheet.
