Requirements

  • Education High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Licenses No professional license required.
  • Certifications BLS, Telemetry certification (Obtained within 6months after hire date)
  • Experience Telemetry experience preferred but not required.
  • Drug Screen
  • Physical Assessment
  • Tuberculosis screen
  • Background check (Criminal, Civil, Educational, Previous Employment, etc.)
  • Driver Record screen (positions requiring on-the-job driving)
  • Immunizations required for employment; including flu vaccine

Nice To Haves

  • Telemetry experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assists ED staff with cleaning, stocking, ordering supplies, referrals, and scribe physician notes.
  • Reliable and punctual attendance is essential; expected to be at job as scheduled each scheduled day.
  • Communicate necessary information to others as appropriate.
  • Coordinate results from ancillary services (lab, radiology) and notify physician or APP when available.
  • Assembles and completes transfer paperwork accurately and completely.
  • Assists ED staff with cleaning of patient rooms.
  • Assists physicians with patient referrals and contacting outside resources. Completes referral paperwork, and to start a patient note.
  • Operates within job description. Does not perform direct patient care. May assist as directed by physician and/or RN.
  • Ensures all paper documents such as an informed consent, conscious sedation, nitrous consent is complete prior to the procedure.
  • Ensures that Workers Comp paperwork is completed prior to patient discharge.
  • Monitors patient on telemetry.
  • Answers phones in a professional manner and directs calls appropriately.
  • Works as an integral part of the health care team.
  • Maintains a positive attitude and values while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and maintain composure in front of patients/families.
  • Documents appropriately; follows HIPAA.
  • Maintains patient/resident/employee privacy and confidentiality at all times.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.
