About The Position

As an ED Tech, you will support emergency department or urgent care by performing basic emergency medical procedures as directed under supervision, assists nurses and physicians in the performance of their functions. You will perform assessment of vital signs, thermal applications, non-sterile soaks, application of simple dressings and splints, stool and urine collection. You will also prepare patients for examinations/treatments including draping patients, opening sterile supplies, set up and removal of IV's. The ED Tech, will assist in collection of patient history and ensures confidentiality of records, as well as, clean and prepare rooms between procedures including changing of bed linens and restocking of room supplies. You may transport patients and/or provide coverage for the unit secretary. This position is Full Time (72 hours per pay period), 12 hour Varied shift, work schedule that includes weekends and holidays. Position is located at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas.

Requirements

• Certified EMT (EMT, AEMT or Paramedic) or CNA
• BLS Healthcare Provider Certifications through American Heart Association

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in a healthcare acute care setting
• The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in an Acute Care setting.
