About The Position

Baystate Health, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare quality and safety, is looking for a Part Time ED Technician to join our team in Springfield, MA. This position is part-time, working the third shift from 7pm to 7:30am, totaling 24 hours per week. Rotating weekends and holidays may be required. The role involves performing a variety of technical tasks and bedside functions, including direct patient care, hygiene, skin care, mobility, transfers, and monitoring. The technician will also assist in procedures and EKGs, manage equipment, and maintain the lab area while upholding regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• HS Diploma/GED
• 1-3 years of direct patient care experience
• CPR-American Heart Association BLS certification
• Phlebotomy certification or practical experience
• Ability to work rotating days, including weekends and holidays
• Ability to multitask
• Computer literate

Nice To Haves

• EMT, ED/Urgent care experience or relative experience through military medical units

Responsibilities

• Provides age-appropriate care to patients.
• Monitors basic physiological parameters and records routine vital signs.
• Administers treatments and procedures in accordance with BMC policy/procedures.
• Assists patients with elimination of body wastes.
• Performs POC testing and maintains laboratory regulatory status.
• Assists with treatment by following specified orders as delegated by the RN.
• Communicates effectively with team and patients.
• Is knowledgeable of and initiates emergency procedures.
• Functions as a member of the team and assists team members with clinical activities.
• Maintains knowledge on current throughput and patient progress initiatives.
