About The Position

As a ED Tech II with Grand Strand Medical Center, you will be part of an organization devoted to giving back to the community. This position is PRN, as needed, and is located at the North Strand Facility ER. Under the direction and supervision of the ED RN, you will administer care consistent with standard practices, including administering medications, providing personal hygiene assistance, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), transporting patients, managing room turnover, monitoring vital signs, initiating IV sites, performing phlebotomy, and collecting specimens for lab testing.

Requirements

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Graduate of Paramedic program required.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications in accordance with the Paramedic scope of practice.
• Provide personal hygiene assistance or total care.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Transport patients to various destinations throughout the facility for tests and treatments.
• Proactively manage room turnover and clean rooms between ED patients.
• Assist with waiting room flow management.
• Monitor vital signs.
• Initiate IV sites.
• Perform phlebotomy and collect specimens for lab and/or point of care testing.
• Perform EKGs within acceptable emergent timeframes according to established guidelines.
• Observe cardiac monitors and report any abnormalities or unusual rhythms to the RN or physician immediately.
