This recruitment will be used to fill 2 (two) part-time (a maximum of 10 hours per week) Teacher Assistant/Grader positions for the Education & Teaching Programs within the College of Education at Oregon State University (OSU). This position provides excellent student and customer service support for the staff, faculty, visitors, students, and administration of the College of Education while working in a busy office with frequent distractions and interruptions. The College of Education contributes to major national dialogues concerning research and the promotion of social justice in (1) the success of English language learners of all ages; (2) developmentally appropriate pedagogy for all ages; (3) learning in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics inside and outside of school; (4) the preparation of mental health and school counselors; (5) adult and higher education leadership. We develop change agents in the form of formal and informal educators, counselors, and leaders. These change agents identify issues and act towards social justice and the full development of human potential and society. As a part of the Division of Arts and Sciences, we support the division's campus-wide role in providing a well-rounded, compelling educational experience. Our work seeks to enhance and extend the historic democratic mission of public education: to prepare all citizens, across their lifetime for full participation in a culturally diverse and technical world. This position, as with all positions within the College of Education, is directly responsible for advancing the mission of the College.   • Reviewing and editing content on Canvas course site
  • Grading and data entry
  • Transcribing audio recordings of lectures
  • Designing or editing related assignments and conducting help sessions
  • Work one-on-one with students seeking academic support.
  • Identify and help process any academic integrity violations that may occur in the course.
  • General office work, reception, or other projects (as needed)
  • Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
  • Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
  • Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
  • High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
  • Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
  • Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term
  • Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
  • Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term
  • International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered "full-time" by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
  • Must have successfully passed ED 216 and/or 219 and be academically enrolled.
  • Experience with data entry and/or database applications.
  • Experience organizing paper and digital files.
  • Demonstrated successful work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated self-motivation in project management.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to do detailed repetitive tasks with consistent high quality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office suite.
  • Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment

  • Pursuing a program or course of study in one of the following areas:
  • EDU B.S. - College of Education "Double Degree" student
  • EDU M.S. - Education Math or Science Education option
