About The Position

The ED Sitter position involves providing constant observation and basic care for patients in the Emergency Department under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role is crucial for ensuring patient safety and comfort during their stay in the department.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is preferred.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• Knowledge of standard precautions in a healthcare setting.
• Ability to recognize emergency situations and respond appropriately.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical and legal responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Sit with patients to provide constant observation and ensure their safety.
• Assist patients with basic care needed for activities of daily living.
• Engage patients in diversionary activities to promote comfort and reduce anxiety.
