About The Position

ED Registration Clerks responsibilities include registering patients for ancillary departments, admitting inpatients, escorting patients and serving as liaison to physicians, nurses and other department personnel regarding registration/admission while working in a 24/7 high-volume, fluid environment. Department: Patient Services Hours: Part time, 20 hours/ week, Minimum two 3rd shifts per week (one 12-hour shift and one 8-hour shift) Shift: 3rd shift Required: HS Diploma Pay: Based on experience, starting at $17.79 Location: Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center

Requirements

  • High School (Required)
  • Driver's License - State of Illinois

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the transport of patients utilizing proper lifting techniques and appropriate equipment.
  • Assists patients and visitors in and out of vehicles. Assists with personal belongings and luggage. Sometimes escorts patients to their appointments.
  • Controls and keeps vehicle keys secure. Documents customer name and location.
  • Covers the Welcome Assistant job duties in the absences of a Welcome Assistant.
  • Demonstrates appropriate customer service behaviors and acts as a productive/professional member of the department.
  • Greets patients and visitors to the Health Center and often gives directions.
  • Interacts with other hospitality service staff (Volunteers, Customer Service Representative, Security, etc.) to facilitate customer access to Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center services.
  • Parks vehicles for customers of the Health Center and Medical Office Pavilion.
  • Remains current on newly constructed areas, new physicians, and events within the Health Center.
