The Psychiatric Clinician is responsible for providing independent psychiatric consultation in the SARMC Boise/Eagle Emergency Department. Must be able to demonstrate the skill set to gather critical care information from treatment teams, define the purpose, type and scope of clinical intervention and satisfy the care challenges to enable appropriate treatment. This position requires autonomy and strong decision-making to adequately assess patient risk by conducting a thorough risk assessment to determine imminent risk. The Psychiatric Clinician must have experience working with individuals and their family members providing crisis intervention and appropriate delivery of services, in addition to insight into level of care recommendations, and/or assistance with accessing community services. Must have experience in the assessment of psychiatric and substance use disorders across the lifespan, and working knowledge of diagnostic criteria for mental health disorders in accordance with the DSM-5. Must possess in-depth, working knowledge navigating the involuntary commitment process, as set forth by Idaho Statute. The Psychiatric Clinician works within a multidisciplinary team, to include: Emergency Physicians, Emergency and/or Behavioral Health Nursing Staff, Psychiatry, and community mental health/medical providers.
