Patient Access Representative Key Responsibilities: Greet, direct, and assist patients and visitors upon arrival. Complete accurate patient registration across Admitting, ED Quick Book, Minor Care, Main Treatment, and Mental Health areas. Enter patient demographics, insurance information, and required clinical intake details into computerized systems. Perform bedside registration in the ED, including full registration for minor care and main treatment patients. Verify insurance eligibility and active coverage; collect co‑payments and enter authorization details. Conduct billing inquiry functions and ensure financial obligations are communicated and documented. Obtain necessary signatures, including treatment consents and financial responsibility forms. Scan and upload required documents such as IDs, insurance cards, referrals, and custody paperwork. Communicate and collaborate with nurses, physicians, medical assistants, and other departments to support patient flow. Direct patients to appropriate departments, including triage, treatment areas, and inpatient surgery check‑in. Conduct pre‑registration and entrance verification for incoming patients. Provide registration coverage across multiple departments, including areas outside the primary work location. Cross‑train to support patient registration in the laboratory (Admitting team). Maintain professionalism and accuracy in a fast‑paced environment involving trauma cases, mental health crises, infectious disease presentations, and high patient volume. Ensure compliance with organizational policies, documentation standards, and privacy regulations. Open Shifts: Admitting Department 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM Emergency Department 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM + Every Other Weekend 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM + Every Other Weekend 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM + Every Other Weekend 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM + Every Other Weekend
