About The Position

Monitor Technician Full Time I Night Shift Emergency Department I Lexington, KY An Emergency department (ED) that provides 24-hour emergency care to patients who need urgent medical attention for severe injuries or illness. Description: Monitor Technician provides continuous observation and interpretation of cardiac rhythms with documentation and communication of pertinent arrhythmias and changes in rate, rhythm, NBP, and/or oxygen saturation to nurse responsible. Observes cardiac monitor, oxygen saturation and Blood pressure. Maintains equipment and supplies. Documents and communicate information regarding patient rhythms and Oxygen saturations, and blood pressure. Responsible for identification of patient arrhythmias, abnormalities, or significant changes from baseline and reporting on the condition of patient/client to the appropriate supervisor or other health care team members. Responsible for assisting providers with cardiac monitoring, therapeutic measures, and procedures related to cardiac monitoring. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Less than one year's experience.
  • RN License, LPN, prior monitor tech experience (substitute for degree)
  • Dysrhythmia courses are completed during orientation and recertified annually.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. If not already certified, applicants must obtain BLS within 30 days of their hire date.

Responsibilities
