About The Position

Idaho Falls Community Hospital is looking for a Injury Prevention and TSE Outreach Coordinator to join our team! JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for coordinating trauma, stroke, and STEMI programs across the continuum of care through external program education, marketing, outreach, and prevention activities. Collaborates with medical staff, hospital management, staff, EMS Liaison, Trauma PI Coordinators, providers, and community partners for educational opportunities. Acts as a liaison for the hospital with other local and national trauma centers and organizations. Supports a collaborative role for the pre-hospital providers, transport agencies, referral hospital, and other trauma centers in developing a regional response to trauma care. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Registered Nursing.
  • Must hold current RN licensure in the State of Idaho.
  • ACLS certification
  • BLS certification
  • 3-5 years in an acute care setting with ICU or Emergency Department experience.

Nice To Haves

  • TNCC/ENPC certifications preferred.
  • Prior experience in an established Trauma, STEMI, Trauma program and/or Injury Prevention desired.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and/or represents Idaho Falls Community Hospital at community outreach programs/health fairs for targeted populations.
  • Establishes criteria and monitors the effectiveness of injury prevention programs.
  • Assesses the community’s needs in injury prevention using trauma registry data and local, regional, state, and national statistics.
  • Develops a strategic injury prevention plan for the trauma center to include program priorities and an annual schedule of events and activities.
  • Represents Trauma Services at community meetings dealing with injury prevention.
  • Coordinates the development/procurement of injury prevention educational materials and trauma publications.
  • Maintains organized documentation of all injury prevention activities.
  • Assists with learning needs assessments, formal and informal, for pre-hospital personnel, nurses, and physicians in the region.
  • Plans, implements, and evaluates educational offerings to meet the needs of the pre-hospital providers, nurses, and physicians in the region.
  • Routinely visits referral agencies within the region to identify customer problems and recommend/develop solutions to build positive relationships, promote Idaho Falls Community Hospital to others, and increase quality of care provided to patients.
