About The Position

Performs a variety of duties assisting the ED staff. Is responsible for materials management, ordering supplies, maintaining equipment and restocking within the Emergency Department. Works with nursing staff, physicians and nurse managers in the department to ensure supplies are available and stocked in appropriate areas and equipment is clean and functioning properly. The ED supply/equipment tech ensures appropriate items and quantities of stock items from store room and specialty order items including but not limited to pediatric supplies, specialty intubation supplies, Alsius Cool Guard supplies, etc.. Responsible for code cart stock and equipment function and communicating improperly functioning equipment to appropriate department. Provides input for both capital and operating expense budget preparation.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and communicate in the English language.
  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and medical equipment.
  • Has good computer, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Hospital background preferred.
  • Previous experience with materials management preferred.
