About The Position

The ECU Early Childhood Teacher develops and maintains records, implements guidelines for the area, and maintains the overall quality of the classroom. This role operates under the supervision of a Lead Teacher, Site Supervisor, or Center Operations Specialist. The teacher assists in providing a stimulating and comprehensive learning environment for infants and toddlers or Head Start children (three to five-year-old) and is responsible for all duties of the Lead Teacher in their absence. The position also ensures that all State Licensing Guidelines and Performance standards are followed.

Requirements

• High school education; or general education degree (GED)
• At least six months experience in a related field
• Knowledge of Spreadsheet software
• Knowledge of Word Processing software
• Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating for those centers providing a bus route
• Employee must not and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG’s Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA’s List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE)
• Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for child care
