About The Position

Overview Develops and maintains records and implements guidelines for the area as well as maintains the overall quality of the classroom under the supervision of the Lead Teacher, Site Supervisor or Center Operations, Specialist. Assists in providing a stimulating and comprehensive learning environment for infants and toddlers or Head Start children (three to five-year-old) and perform all responsibilities in the Lead Teacher's absence. Assures all State Licensing Guidelines and Performance standards are followed.

Requirements

  • High school education; or general education degree (GED).
  • At least six months experience in a related field.
  • An individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating for those centers providing a bus route.
  • Employee must not and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG’s Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA’s List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
  • Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for child care.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell.
  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
