The ECT Registered Nurse (RN) at Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health Center is responsible for ensuring patient safety and care during ECT treatments. This role involves working in a fast-paced PACU setting, collaborating closely with psychiatrists and anesthesiologists to provide comprehensive care for patients undergoing ECT. The position requires adherence to safety practices, infection control, and hospital policies, with a commitment to delivering compassionate care tailored to each patient's needs.

  • Ensure patient safety and care before, during, and after ECT treatments.
  • Follow all safety practices and infection control protocols.
  • Work in a fast-paced PACU setting to recover patients post-ECT.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists and anesthesiologists to deliver safe care.
  • Adhere to hospital policies and procedures regarding ECT treatments.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
  • Minimum three years of experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably six months in psychiatric nursing.
  • Experience in ICU, PACU, emergency room, medical-surgical, or acute care medical hospital settings is required.
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Experience working with mental health patients.
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and performance improvement.
