Stantec is seeking passionate and energetic individuals with experience conducting land management and habitat restoration in natural areas of the Ohio River valley. Successful applicants will join a growing group of environmental scientists and practitioners implementing projects to conserve, restore, and manage prairies, streams, wetlands, woodlands, and other native habitats. As an Ecosystem Restoration Supervisor, you will help lead field crews with a focus on safety, innovation, and quality project delivery while in direct contact with Project Managers. This is a full-time position based out of our Cincinnati, OH office location.

Requirements

  • Experience conducting land management and habitat restoration in natural areas, specifically in the Ohio River valley.
  • Skills in invasive species identification and control, native seeding and planting, prescribed burning, and brush and tree removal.
  • Experience with equipment operation including light and heavy-duty trucks, chainsaws, herbicide sprayers, ATVs/UTVs, tractors, and skid loaders.
  • Demonstrated skills in ecological restoration techniques, erosion and sediment control methods, and wetland and stream restoration.

Responsibilities

  • Working with and leading field crews to carry-out tasks related to ecosystem restoration and management on sites ranging from one to 100s of acres.
  • Specific job tasks include invasive species identification and control (herbicide application, cutting, and mowing), native seeding and planting, prescribed burning, and brush and tree removal.
  • Demonstrating skills and experience with field tasks such as plant identification, invasive species control methods, ecological restoration techniques, erosion and sediment control methods, and wetland and stream restoration.
  • Works directly with Project Managers and senior restoration staff to ensure projects are tracking on time and on budget with specific consideration to scope changes and budget change orders.
  • Lead field efforts for planning, collection, and documentation of field and written/tabular data for various restoration tasks.
  • Implementing a safety-first mindset and applying all established health, safety, security, and environment (HSSE) standards during all office and field operations.
  • Assists with pricing and proposal/bid development for new opportunities.
